Double Troub-bowl

Today is my day of the Bowls with Borders Blog Hop. Like several quilters, I have cats. Do your cats always seem to jump up on your cutting table as soon as you have the blade guard down on your rotary cutter? Mine do. For some reason, my cats seemed particularly interested in this paper pieced bowls project while I was working on it. Thus the inspiration for Double Troub-bowl.

This paper pieced and applique mini is 10 x 13 inches. The pattern is from the very talented Regina Grewe.

Bubba approves!

Here are the rest of today's Bowl with Borders Blog Hop Hosts. Many thanks to all participants, Carol, Madame Samm and Regina.

  4. Very nice! The cats should be in there. My cat always helps with all my quilting. She sits on my lap while hand quilting (underneath the hoop). She seems partial to cutting too, or maybe not as she tends to sit on the fabric....

  6. Great bowls, love that you have added the cats. It appears that we all have a cat that thinks they wants to be right in the middle of things. Thanks for being part of the hop.

  11. Great colors and I absolutely love your quilting on that! I can see the influence of the Modern Quilt movement in the way you have put it all together. Even like the addtion of the cats (tho I'm a dog person). Sometimes I let my dog up into my sewing room, but I am pretty confident she wouldn't hop up on my cutting table - whew!

  12. Oh you raided my stash - I see lots of my fabrics in this little piece! Yes, my furries like the rotary - and must lay on the cutting mat while I use it - that's why I got a 'king' size mat. Love the added furs to the bowls, very cute idea. Thank you for sharing with us today.

  33. First let me say, beautiful bowls. Congratulations on being the chosen one. My cat, if you seen my blog, she is 11 years old and fat. So she does not jump that high anymore unless there is a treat up there for her. Guess that is why she is so fat...anyway, she is there at my feet, on in her bed in my room. Thank you for sharing. Your cats are adorable.
